EIGHT WEEKS BEFORE MAIL DATE:

  3. Define the goals of the campaign
  4. Make a tempting offer, and include a call to action
  5. Think of how you will measure the results of the direct mail campaign

  7. Find a graphic designer
  8. Get printing quotes

SIX WEEKS BEFORE MAIL DATE

  1. Estimate the postage costs
  2. Finalize the offering and message
  3. Obtain network
  4. Get customer testimonials for copy writer

FOUR WEEKS BEFORE MAIL DATE

  1. Sign the deal with printers / vendors
  2. Set up keycodes so that you will know which lists performs bset
  3. Ensure that you have used a personal but professional tone
  4. Check addresses
  5. Verify spelling and Grammer

TWO WEEKS BEFORE MAIL DATE

  1. Final list management: buy the external lists and clean your own databases
  2. Review lists for errors
  3. Scan to see names, titles in correct order
  4. Make sure each has ZIP Code
  5. Proofread all copy: consider this your final proof
  6. Finalize plans with fulfilment house or order takers
  7. Get all mailing permits
